Initial Research
Rather than beginning with end goal-focused ideation, our team took the approach of researching different problem areas related to diabetc demographics in U.S., we found out that most of the diabetic users rely on fitness trackers to develop their rountines, but easily expose to the problem such as cheating and lack of professional guidiance.

Interview
We mainly focus on interview people who have previously used fitness trackers. We have set up a broad user pool to collect data and established some background information to assist us in defining the research focus: users’ opinions on sharing fitness tracking data.

In-depth Analysis
To further understand the needs of our user group, we constructed the activity theory diagram and mapped our user’s journey to get a deeper understanding of their needs throughout the stages of improving their health through an exercise routine.

UX Design / Product Design
In response to the problem of diabetes patients needing to closely monitor large amounts of bodily data, our team has developed a comprehensive tracking app, Glucose Master, to encourage diabetic patients to track and maintain a healthy lifestyle, further enables users to schedule daily exercise activities and track metrics of their changing condition using a connected fitness tracker.

Initial Design
Based on our user analysis, we identified these product criteria, and consider how could we acheive them into our prototype:

Intended use and benefit → product criteria
While implementing the details of the prototype product design, we have taken inspiration from many different diabetes and health tracking applications we have studied-Mysugar and Nike Run Club.

We chose these two applications because their features have received much positive feedback from users;
MySugar has a rating of 4.7 from 15 thousand reviews on the Apple App Store, with many citing its analytical and comprehensive nature greatly beneficial to monitoring their condition (Hoskins, 2021).
Moreover, both apps provide great lead in health status monitor with different focus, We redesigned these systems based on health guidelines for diabetic patients.

Intelligent Exercise Plan
When users input personal information, our app will automatically plan and recommend exercise plans for them. Users can adjust the plan details themselves to fit their exercise patterns.
Cloud Data Storage
Doctors can directly view users' exercise status and provide suggestions, and users can also share their exercise data with their communities or friends (user permission required).
Hardware connection
Users’ health data from mobile devices (ex. Apple Health) or additional hardwares will be automatically update to detect more professional and accurate data.
Detailed onboarding instructions
Rather than shows massive policy pages, we develop clear interface and content to guide users better understand our main functionalities

Initial prototype vs. final implementation
In the final version of Glucose Master, while maintain the same user flow, we change the color palattes to high-contrast, minimalist aesthetic to maximize accessibility. By utilizing a clean white background with purposeful green accents, the design prioritizes data legibility and reduces visual clutter, ensures that critical health information is easy to read and interact with.
Prioritize user-friendly
Next Step
Although our application can efficiently help users monitor blood sugar during exercise, we are aware that our design and iterations have technical limitations. For the future iterations we designed, we will follow up on issues of AI accuracy and advanced an-ti cheat mechanisms. We hope that our design and reasoning are worthwhile in seeking to improve the health of the diabetes community.
Prototype

We have then develop actionable prototype through Figma and test it with diverse users, include people we interviewed with, school atheletic professionals and random customers at CVS (with diabetes or have family members with diabetes). We found out that:
